About This Issue
This month, GlobalPOV takes a close look at the driving forces behind the national "identity theft" problem. Interviews include:
  • A former con man (and the subject of an upcoming Spielberg movie) describes how easy it is to steal someone's identity.
  • Two identity theft victims describe their experiences.
  • An executive from a leading biometrics company explores the root of Americašs privacy concerns with biometrics.
  • A guest essayist examines whether Americans really want a more secure national ID system.
  • An expert discusses how improper corporate disposal of privacy-sensitive computer systems is fueling the identity theft problem.
  • A lawyer from the AARP describes how persons over 50 are especially savvy in selecting which companies they do/do not choose to share personal information with.
GlobalPOV selected each of this month's participants based on their ability to bring a unique expertise to the table. We posed difficult questions, with the goal of providing you, our readers, with content-rich interviews that would stimulate message board debate and expose the full implications of this issue. We invite you to respond to these points of view and, of course, to share your own unique perspectives.
